What to ask a private credit manager.
In a mortgage fund, the valuation is the risk control. LVR covenants, drawdown tests and security cover all resolve to numbers produced by external professionals the manager selects. These are the questions that reveal how much discipline sits behind those numbers — and they are answerable. A manager who cannot answer them in writing has told you something.
